Christmas Traditions

Where I live, we only celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve - we open all of our presents on 24 December. But nevertheless I want to share my family's Christmas traditions with you :)

The morning is pretty relaxed. We take our Christmas tree, put it inside the living room and decorate it. We usually have a small tree so we like to put it onto a small table. My cat gets really lazy in the winter time, so he likes to sleep under the tree - it's right next to the heater ^.^
After the Christmas tree is all finished, we have our traditional Christmas soup made by my grandmother for lunch. Unfortunately I don't like all of the ingredients, so I just have a normal noodle soup (I should mention: I love noodles!^^). Then we take all of our presents and put them under the tree.
The rest of the afternoon is really relaxed: We normally watch movies and stuff. At around six o'clock we normally have dinner. Every year we eat something different, but usually we have two different meals: One based on meat and the other one is vegetarian - my brother and I are veggies.
Afterwards we all have to wait, while my dad goes into the living room and looks if the Christ Child has already been here - in truth he just lights up the candles on the tree. Then we all go into the living room, sit down and sing some Christmas songs. After that we finally swap our gifts.
We normally stay up late and talk. The next morning we sleep really long and then go out for lunch with the hole family.

These are my family's traditions. What about your's? :)

Gift Idea: Last Minute DIY

A few days ago I did a blog post about DIY gifts for Christmas and one of my ideas was making coupons. Today I found the perfect way to do that!

This video was made by craftychica and it shows how she makes this mini-zines to promode her book and her brand. But I think, I'd be perfect for coupons as well! It's fast and super easy, everyone can do it!

(I tried to upload a tutorial on how I make those coupons, but YouTube doens't work -.- I'll try to reupload soon)

Gift Idea: DIY Christmas Presents

Today I want to share some DIY gift ideas with you. I think, homemade presents are adorabel and everyone loves them! So let's get started :)

  1. Selfmade Mug
This makes a perfect present for a tea or coffee lover! Just get a plain mug and some paint and you're ready to start. The supplies are not expensive and everyone can do something like that! There are tons of tutorials on youtube, but my favourite ones are the Moustache Mug and this Hello Kitty & Totoro Mug. You can also add some tea or coffee to make this gift perfect :)
  2. Teacup Candle
Super easy & super cute! I love the look of these candles, they're adorable! Click here to find a tutorial.
  3. DIY Tissue Holder
A perfect gift for the winter. This is so easy, even someone who's not good at sewing can do this! I found a great and easy to follow tutorial here.
  4. Selfmade Calender
I think, this is a great gift for your parents or grandparents. Just take some nice photos of you (and your siblings, your pet,...) and glue them onto the calender (you can find those nearly everywhere!). This is a really cute and personal gift. I got one for my birthday from my friends and I love it!
  5. Recipe Book
Really easy, but it's a great and personal gift for everyone who's into cooking and baking. I really like how this one turned out.
  6. DIY Pillow
I love this gift, because it's soooo cute and you can give it to everyone! Again, there are tons of tutorial but why don't you try out the Strawberry Pillow or the Donut Pillow?
  7. Coupons
A great last minute gift idea. Perfect for your boyfriend (love coupons), friend, brother, mom... Just take some paper and fun coloured pens. Think of some good coupons:
Boyfriend: Dinner out, cinema, romatic picknick, sport event, breakfast in bed,...
Best girlfriend: Movie Night, mani- and pedicure, shopping trip, cinema, spa day,...
Mom/Dad: Breakfast in bed, no housework to do, you cook them a romatic dinner,...
  8. Selfmade Headband
A cute gift for you girlfriend. Click here to find an easy tutorial. This is also great to add this makeup bag gift.
  9. Homemade Ornament
Really cute and perfect for Christmas! The supplies aren't expensive, so even a student can afford it. I really like this snowman ornament tutorial.
  10. Dreamcatcher
Easy, fast and it makes a great gift. Espeacilly for girls :) Click here to check out this super easy tutorial on how to make one your own!
I hope, this helped you a bit :)

Gift Idea: Snow Globe

Here's another gift idea I picked out for you: How about a cute snow globe with your own photos in it?

I got one for my birthday and I thought it´s such a cute idea. I´m actually going to give one to my friend for Christmas.

It could look something like this. You can find them at probably any decor store. Then just print out your phote and cut it the right shape. Put it into the snow globe and your finished! Super easy!
The snow globe I bought was only about 3€! (about 4$ and 2.5£)

But of course you can do a snow globe on your own! I found this easy tutorial made by Bethany aka Macbarbie07 on youtube :)

NOTE: I don't own this video! It was made by Macbarbie07. I use it on my blog to show my support and because I really enjoy watching her videos.
